I did not manage to actually go to sleep before finishing the movie last night, which was just as well. Other thoughts from the rewatch (not included in my rambly comments on the previous entry ( Read more... )

::bounces in glee::

Y'know, I didn't have the chance to watch the movie until I'd seen more than half the eps on the show. I spent half the time thinking to myself, "Wow, Spader is really channeling Shanks here... Oops." :)

But oh yes, I love love love Sha'uri. And Daniel. And Jack. The movie is just fabulous and I've adored Abydos ever since I saw it. You're making me want to go do a rewatch, too!

I'm looking forward to more of these posts. :)

*grin* I saw a handful of episodes before seeing the movie too, and I feel like the first time I watched it, I spent way to much time cataloging which bit characters did and didn't have the same actors in them, and less time appreciating things like Daniel learning his way through his first first contact and living dead language. He's so woefully out of his depth for those first few moments, and then he just throws himself into it and it's awesome, even when he missteps.

You should rewatch too and we'll do dueling rewatch posts! :)

I was so happy to see Kasuf and Skaara as the same actors that I don't think I cared much about the other bit parts!

Dueling posts? Nah. But I will make sure to link to Redial fanworks. And meta too. :)

Excuse my dimness. Is Stargate the one with Jaye whatshischeese (the guy from Crying Game) as Ra?

Yup, that's it. (I had lots of thoughts about Ra and the creepy cavalcade of children, too, but decided not to include them.) Haven't seen Crying Game, though. :)

Very powerful film. Don't watch it on US TV though because they cut it.

I will see if it's on Netflix.
