Cell Phone protest

A group of students from the schools in the old John Jay school building walked off classes and held a protest outside their schools against what they deem as unfair practices by school authorities. The school officials' crime? Taking cell phones away from students. Officials claim cell phones and other electric devices are disruptive to the school ( Read more... )

I agree it is unfair but if there is an emergency, there is always a phone in the school office.

I think the students are all approaching this cell phone issue in a wrong way.

I agree. I wish they would learn to use their cell phones appropriately and this wouldn't be an issue. I also wish they would use their voice to protest something more important than cell phone use. But at least they are learning to organize themselves. Gotta start somewhere.
