Well, for the second time, it appears that I have failed the second year of uni, again. Exactly the same reasons as last time: being in the mindset that I can simply coast through, do a little work and still get some reward ( Read more... )

No advice here, i've had exactly the same problem all my adcademic life too, looking back with an "if" on all of it. The drive to do well comes in bursts of productivity lasting a few days at most and lists never get finished or even started.

Find something you want to do, if it's game design get in at an apprentice level or whatever is the lowest rung. Even an office worker at a games company is a foot in the door as many industires hire internally before looking externally.

Acadaemia and degrees in particular are no way to teach practical skills, one year in practice taught me more about nursing than the three at college ever did. As for my "Meh" attitude, i'm pretty "meh" about it tbh :P poor grades wont stop you doing what you like, i'm sure you'll find a way.
