For an industry with such a he-man image, they can be whiny bastards, can't they?

Fortunately, there is an antidote. The CFMEU - that's the union that represents people who actually, y'know work in the mines, as opposed to the self-pitying greedheads who 'work' in the management of the mines - has produced a marvellous ad to counter the one that' ( Read more... )

Gold, pure gold.
This massive impact they keep talking about (jobs, stocks, etc) is all rubbish anyway. But what realy gets me is some of these mining execs, they made in the vicinty of $4 Billion profit just last year. Hmmm, I'm thinking out of $4 Billion, they might be able to spare a little extra taxation (and is they pass on the costs which they claim is necessary and what is going to affect the little guy, well then they really are just utter bastards.)

Love the Amiga 1000 in one of the 1980s frames.

You should hear the CFMEU/AMWU guys go on about the mines at work.

God bless the CFMEU.

The mining industry's radio ad makes me so angry I have to switch stations when it comes on. When that woman says, "More taxes are good for the government, but what does it do for me?" I was to scream "Hospitals! Roads! Literacy! A TAFE system that teaches mining practice for workers!"
