You'll want the bangs long for the right effect. I mean, trim them enough not to go BLIND, but if you cut them too short it won't look like. A tip? Eyelash glue, like you would use for fake eyelashes. You'll be actually glueing the wig to your forehead, but it doesn't damage the wig and will wash off your face.

Thanks for the tip! Now that I have the costume I'm finding I need a ton of little things, like a sports bra to squish my chest down, glue to keep the snaps on the coat from coming loose, etc.

If you're going to cosplay a lot, you may want to invest in a binder. I mainly do girls but my friend who does guys swears by her binder.

Alternatively, there's a way to convert a pair of tights into a make-shift one.

I'm only going to use the costume once, maybe twice this year, so I don't think I'd get a binder for that. However, I am interested in that pantyhose technique. :)
