I had this dream this morning where I looked out the window and it was warm and sunny and there was this teeny 1-foot mound of snow left in the spot in front of mean people. It was great. Subject: January Thaw Cut from Budget

Mother Nature announced yesterday that due to budgetary constraints
this year, the January Thaw has been delayed and possibly eliminated
from this year's plans. At a press conference, she was quoted as
saying, "So many resources have been allocated for this winter's major
storms that there are insufficient funds to support a thaw." The
comment drew groans from the crowd on hand. She then added, "If we can
scale back in other areas, such as thunderstorm activity in the
summer, then perhaps we can institute some sort of thaw in February."

I had a weird dream this morning as the alarm was going off. I was in a computational linguistics lab of sorts just hanging around, but then everyone was there for a class that was about to start (and people were chatting about it on zephyr). It was too awkward for me to leave for some reason, but I was so tired I kept falling asleep. And this happened while I was slowly waking up/falling back asleep over the course of 5 horrible minutes.

Snow tires seem like a huge hassle, but I just realized I was thinking of snow chains. I wonder how the logistics of work with dealing with your old tires.

Have fun in the SF area. I'll have to find out what part of town you're staying in.
