Oddly, I only seem to get mistaken for female if I haven't shaved. I don't know why this is. Except occasionally very young children think long hair = woman, but they just need to get out more.

...peach fuzz? when I'm wearing my green jacket and not-baseball cap, I get sir'd and sonny'd.

> Related, I'm still trying to decide if I buy a new snes playing system or try to fix mine. I think it stopped believing in video out. it's tragic. I'm also wondering if I should rescue my old games from ET, since the actives probably don't play them anymore...

RF, the A/V port, or both?

and "probably"

honestly, it's been a while since I tested it, so I can't remember why I thought it was the a/v out port. I know I tried with a SNES->RCA cable (did nintendo standardize them for their systems for a while? I think I swapped with a gamecube one, too) and I think I tried something else... so I probably did try the RF... Maybe it's time to try again.

I never had a GameCube so don't know about that one, but SNES and N64 used the same console->TV RCA cables.

Oh, I also have similar reactions (well, perhaps not quite the same as your #2, but adjust appropriately) when people read my gender wrong. I was pretty amused, though, the one time when I went to Macy's, and an employee asked me "Can I help you, sir, I mean, ma'am?"
