Oddly, I only seem to get mistaken for female if I haven't shaved. I don't know why this is. Except occasionally very young children think long hair = woman, but they just need to get out more.

honestly, it's been a while since I tested it, so I can't remember why I thought it was the a/v out port. I know I tried with a SNES->RCA cable (did nintendo standardize them for their systems for a while? I think I swapped with a gamecube one, too) and I think I tried something else... so I probably did try the RF... Maybe it's time to try again.
Oh, I also have similar reactions (well, perhaps not quite the same as your #2, but adjust appropriately) when people read my gender wrong. I was pretty amused, though, the one time when I went to Macy's, and an employee asked me "Can I help you, sir, I mean, ma'am?"
