So I wanted to bounce an idea off everyone here. Stephen wanted to use an unplayable violin for our guestbook. Obviously there would not be any messages written on it, just the names of those that came to celebrate our special day. They could use sharpies or something to the like for signing and afterwards we could have it "framed" and hang it

IMHO, do what YOU want for your wedding and pshaw to anyone who says otherwise. Your special day comes and goes in an instant.

That is a really good idea! So unique - we did the traditional book and had blank picture frames, but the violin is a really good idea and it's something special to both of you!
