if anyone ever tries to tell you that horror folks don't tend to skew incredibly conservative, just point out how far they're willing to go to pretend that joel lane wasn't a gay man writing queer fiction.
That's, er, remarkable of them. What about that story he did about the closet gay Tory politician? That was about as gay-themed as you can get without it being titled A GAY STORY OF GAIETY ABOUT GAYNESS (though of course it was also more than that, and I'm very annoyed I can't remember the bloody name of it now!)
At times I really feel quite lucky that I have never had the money to become involved in the big horror convention circuit, and the only horrory people I know are the chaps from the Friends of Arthur Machen and Tarts'R'Us (who are certainly not homophobic!)
