work woes

I think I just got chewed out majorly by my customer at work.  I begged people not to make me handle a customer before I knew what I was doing, but everyone assured me that I would have advisors and everything would be fine.  In fact, even with advisors, I have screwed up the last 5 things I tried to do for them, each one more serious than the last ( Read more... )

I'm still unclear as to what exactly you do. IT support? Ish?

*I* am still unclear as to what exactly I do. But yes, essentially IT support, but instead of just trouble shooting issues, customers ask us any time they have a tech question. "Can you make it do this?" (if so, I do it). "Can you reformat these files so they can be installed?" Etc.

That, right there, is why I am so damn scared of going into the real workplace. I'm having enough issues handling a retail job with only slightly more responsibility than my past jobs. I don't like not being sure of what I'm doing and the kind of pressure where a person or company is relying on me to do something right with little margin for error freaks me the fuck out. Because like you, if there is a mistake to be made, I will make it.
