So begins the journey through Middle Earth...
Or more like the back end of the Earth. XD
Anyways, here is some pictures I took during my first day's travel.
I started out from Auckland early in the morning. Rather boring drive until I picked up a couple Swedes who were hitch-hiking. Drove them to Taupo which was on my way to Napier. However, I wasn't paying attention so somehow I drove too far and ended up in Cali. >_<
Actually, this is Napier on the east coast of the north island. Nice little place.
Parked at my campsite for the night and rather quickly, the local duck mafia started eyeing me up.
I chased them away because they were mumbling something about 'protection' fees.
I walked around town a bit. Nothing of interest except some art deco style buildings and such. Here's a fountain. Yey fountain.
I ended up watching the Harry Potter movie (it felt a bit rushed) in their quaint little cinema. It sold out all its 100 seats. bwahahah XD
Eventually I toddled on home to slip onto the bed in the back of the van for sleep.
However, the next morning, things didn't look good. The duck mafia came back with its boss and were about to peck out my eyes.
I distracted them with some bread, then hopped into my van and sped away. Finally I've arrived in Wellington to catch my ferry at 6pm to cross to the south island. Right now its only 2pm, so a bit of interwebbing and perhaps checking out a museum before its time to go.
