Home PC trouble

Seems that my home PC has given up a ghost few days ago. My bro hadnt a clue what could be the reason. I sugested two, the powersource and the motherboard. Few minutes ago i found out it was the first reason. I removed the newer 500W source and replaced it with ancient 350W (I had that one for long time from my old dismantled PC), and reattatched ( Read more... )

I did the same for my pc, merely go get maximum performance (the CPU was 100% all the time in GTA IV, now it's hovering near 60% :P)

but i did upgrade it from 520 to 650 W :3

What brand was the old and new 500w source? Cheaper brands even though say "500w", it might not actually be so. I'd stick with known brands like Corsair or Antec or Seasonic for that matter.

Hmm... now that I took a closer look at the source, found out its not 500w, but 400w one... about year old if memory serves.

A Redstar LC-B400ATX (and smaller label reads "S/N:61358227")
