Ok - weird. I was checking my e-mail and I got locked out with a message saying "lockdown in sector 4" then a paragraph about how google detects I'm using a thrid part software that is against TOS and my account has been locked for 24 hours then gives me an E-MAIL address to contact them if there is an error - hello? idiots? lol. Okay, not funny, but the way to said it was very much so. That happened to be today too, so maybe gmail itself is having problems.

I went to Google and typed in Gmail lockdown in sector 4 and got a big list of communities where people are having the same problem. Hope that might help? I have a Gmail I use too, so I just wanted to check it out.

atleast you can access gmail. most days i cant even get to the stupid webpage...

From the other comments, sounds like it may be a bug they're working on... I take it you're accessing it through their web page. Have you tried using it through a POP3 application (Outlook, or Thunderbird)? I haven't had any problems with my gmail through POP3, and I could help you get that set up.

Should always have a backup just in case, and so you have a "spam magnet" acount. Anytime you are signing up for something that you might get spam from use the alternate acount.

Never trust completely in anything, not even the almighty google.
