The AV Club has just initiated a new column called AV Q & A in which they ask themselves a question, and everybody in the office answers it. This week's question is, "What was the first album you bought with your own money?" The purpose of this question seems to be to shame people into admitting that they used to love Duran Duran. The first cd I received was the 1995 Grammy nominations, but I can't remember what I bought first. I've been trying to think of it since you posted this and haven't come up with anything yet. Hopefully, I'll remember some time.

Huh, Smash was one of my firsts, too, but not the very first. That was the Cranberries' first album.
