How do you guys feel about the word proactive? Should it be allowed to exist?

I am usually against burning down the lexicon because some corporate dumbass has got hold of a word. And I guess it has a different shade of meaning than, say, "anticipatory". On the other hand, it means "in favor of action", which is dumb as rocks.
