Anybody else?

One of the AV Club writers has started blogging about season 1 of the West Wing, and it's reminded me of how much I loved that show. *sigh* I loved that show.
Except Donna. And so, ten years late to the party, I wanted to ask: was I the only one who hated Donna? Hhhhhaaaaaated Donna? How did y'all feel about her?

How can anyone hate C.J.? That's like- That's like hating- That's like hating something really awesome that no one should have reason to hate.
I didn't so much hate Mandy as I just never felt a reason to get emotionally invested in her character like I did the others (except Donna, unless you count wanting her to catch on fire and then fall off a cliff an emotion). I do wish the show had come up with some reason for her absence, rather than just sending her upstairs with Judy Winslow.

Nope, I liked Donna. She wasn't my favorite character, and she was one of the weaker characters (in terms of likability) on the show, but I had no problem with her. ("Yo-yo ma Rules!") However, I may be biased, I'm an Aaron Sorkin fan boy.

Leo and Toby were probably my favorite characters, as I'm thinking about it now. But I loved the episodes with Stockard Channing as the president's wife. My favorite line from the series probably is from The Indians in the Lobby: "J'accuse, mon petit fromage!"

Yeah, I heart Toby and Leo, too. And Stockard Channing is marvelous.

And it also really bugged me that in the second season they started having Donna be part of Senior Staff every morning. The President didn't get to bring his secretary. The chief of staff didn't get to bring his secretary. But the deputy chief of staff does? Lack of logic!

Also a Donna plotline led to President Bartlet's question, "Did you read [Beowulf] in the original Middle English or in translation?" I therefore blame her.
