What should I read next?

As you know, I recently finished That Old Ace in the Hole, so I need something new to read. I'm moving soon, though, so I can't check a book out of the library. I need something I can take along with me to Florida and not return for several months. Therefore, I just raided the bookcase that holds my mom's collection from when she taught high

I'm not going to be a lot of help here. As I recall, Red Badge is kind of Boy's Own literature, What It Is to Be A Man, and that. I haven't read that particular S.E. Hinton, but her other stuff seems a little high-schoolish. Annd... that's it. Neither Decameron nor McCullers, have read I. Anybody else?

This might be too late to help you, but I really enjoyed the couple of stories from the Decameron that I read for a class. I hear they get pretty racy, too ;)

Well, I settled on The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, but I haven't had time to read more than twenty pages of it anyway, so maybe the whole thing was kind of moot. Oh, well. Thanks, though.
