I'm really hoping it's something explainable with Sam. Either something big that hasn't been revealed or something simple like this, but SOMETHING. I really liked your theory re: the mental institution. I hate mid-season finales, they always leave you hanging. I flat out refused to watch The Walking Dead's because I knew it would be way too intense. It's sitting on my DVR waiting for the next ep to come out first. I'll show those TV people. I've figured them out. *shakes fist*
I wish it had been a mental institution, too. Especially for Martin. I liked crazy Martin better than creepy killer Martin. I did hear another "theory" that this wasn't the mid-season finale as intended because of scheduling and we will get something better after the break. I am not holding my breath.
How can you let The Walking Dead episode sit there? Though, they are having a marathon of all three seasons on AMC on New Year's Eve through New Year's Day.:D

I know! I was sad that they took a sympathetic character and made him so heartless. Benny was understandable, but his granddaughter was human and she never did anything to anyone as far as I know.
As far as the TWD ep sitting on my DVR. It's friggin killing me! But there's not a single member of the good guys I can bear to lose at this point (if I had to pick one it would be Andrea. *sorry* she needs to buy a clue and get less self righteous). I'm afraid there will be a big cliffhanger with all the crap going on. P.S. Merle makes me unreasonably angry.
Believe it or not, but I have never seen the complete movie! Each Christmas when it's on tv, I say that I will, though. :P
