I love the start of this. The personalities of the old man and Joey, the run-down gas station, your description of Dean's behavior -- his twitchiness, his PTSD from Purgatory, him trying to get to Sam because he's so angry at him yet he won't talk to him about it because Sam hadn't earned it. Loved the cat! It's great how you use everyday things and have Dean (and the reader) wonder if something supernatural is going on here.
