Chapter 2: Green, Grey, Blond, and Brunet
Chapter Summary: It’s not an H/D story unless eye and hair colours are mentioned.
Disclaimer: J. K. Rowling and her minions own everything related to Harry Potter and his magical world. I make no monies from this paltry piece of Potterotica.
Author’s Note: Thanks to the wonderful Scully for your beta work on this.

Eyes that used to shine like crown jewels now stared off into nothingness. At one time they could shine with delight or narrow, glaring at the approach of an enemy, but now the irises were opaque and cloudy with the advancement of ocular disease.

The soul behind the eyes sat at the kitchen table, hands wrapped around a cooling teacup waiting for his husband to return.

After a time, the back door opened, and an elderly wizard walked in carrying a couple of canvas bags laden with groceries. He placed the bags on the counter, took off his coat, and wiped the water that had fallen on top of his head.

“Well,” said the seated man, “did you get everything on the list?”

“Yes, but they were out of tuna. I’ll go back later in the week to pick it up. Have you been up for long? You should get some rest.”

“If I rest anymore I’ll start pulling what’s left of my hair out.”

“Don’t do that, Love. I adore the colour your hair has turned; it’s become such a beautiful white. At least, then, let me draw you a bath. What little is left of your hair is starting to get as oily as Snape’s used to be.”

“I love how you can compliment and insult my hair at the same time. I remember a time when you used to love to run your hands through it. Besides, at least I still have hair,” said the seated man as he began to rise.

“I chose to shave my head. Besides, who says I still don’t love to run my fingers through it? Why do you think I want to wash it? Come on, Love. Let’s go get you in the bath.”

The two men walked together down the hall one leading the other, lovingly ensuring that his husband safely made it to the bath.

“We may not be the young, handsome men we used to be, but I still love you, Harry.”

“I love you too, Draco.”
