Story Title: All This and Heaven Too
Rating: Most chapters will be PG/PG-13. Some will be R/NC-17
Warnings: mpreg, language, sugary fluff, with a dash of angst at the beginning and in the middle.
Summary: Harry and Draco are newlyweds… They have a good marriage with a few hiccups…. I suck at summaries. It’ll be fluffy fluff fluff.
Disclaimer: J. K. Rowling and her minions own everything related to Harry Potter and his magical world. I make no money from this paltry piece of Potterotica.
Author’s notes: This story is for my schmoop_bingo card. I’m going to make an attempt at using all the prompts with this story. I’ll try to post another chapter/prompt every Friday night. The chapters will be between 1000 - 2000 words. I shamelessly stole this title from an old Bette Davis movie that I saw once and loved. This story is completely unrelated. Oh, and it’s unbeta’d. All mistakes are my own.

Chapter One
Prompt: First fight - making up
Word Count: 1130

No, I don’t understand, Draco. Explain it to me again.” The words were spoken with far more venom than they seemed. Harry was being unreasonable. Oh dear.

Draco sighed and began to explain again.

“I have to go on this trip, Harry. It’s only for a-”

“Yes, I got that, Draco. Why do you have to share a room with him, though? He’s your ex-lover!” Harry shouted.

The fight played through his head over and over again like an old record.

No matter how many times Draco explained that it wasn’t one room, but a suite of rooms, and that there would be a third person with them, Harry would not listen to reason. He just knew that Draco was going to be sharing accommodations with Theo Nott, Draco’s former lover, for a week far away from home, far away from him, in the Americas.

The annual business conference had been scheduled months in advance. Harry never said anything about it, but then the issue of who was sleeping where had never come up either. The last few weeks, though, Harry had been raising the issue about the shared living space. Each discussion was more hostile than the last. Then the night before he was to leave, their fight almost escalated to hexes being cast. Draco thought that Harry was being unreasonable and demanding. Harry accused Draco of having an affair and using the conference as an excuse for his waywardness.

In a huff, Draco marched out of their bedroom and slept his last night at home in the guest bedroom. In the morning, he snuck out of the house before Harry woke. He didn’t know if he didn’t want to see Harry because it would ache to miss him or because he was afraid of what Harry would do. He really was being a bastard.

As they were arriving in New York, he knew it was a mistake to leave like that, but it was too late. He’d have to repair the damage done when he got back home and hope for the best.

In the meantime, Draco had been steadfast in his work during the conference. He delivered his lectures and had picked up some key contacts along the way. He had worked tirelessly to ensure that the name of Malfoy Industries continued to be known as a respectable name within the global wizarding community.

Even though he was dedicated to both his profession and to his father’s company, he found his thoughts slipping back to the problems he had run away from on the home front. The week had gone by and neither he nor Harry had made any attempt to contact each other.

A small copper coin rolled and clinked against Draco’s glass. He had been so lost in thought thinking about his husband that he had completely neglected the people he had gone out to drinks with. This was the last day of the conference before everyone went home and they had decided on one last drink before scattering across the globe.

“Knut for your thoughts,” the deep, soft voice said next to him. Draco could feel the shiver running up the side of his arm and down his spine at the sound of that voice. That was one of the things that initially attracted him to Theo when he’d run into him after leaving school. Their affair had been brief, but they knew it wouldn’t last between them. They were too much alike to make it last. Shortly after they'd called it quits Draco had begun courting Harry, the love of his life. It was a decision he never regretted.

When Draco had told Harry about Theo, Harry had become stiff backed and jealous. He hadn’t been like that when Draco had mentioned his other lovers, but then he didn’t have professional contact with any of them either. Theo worked for his father. He was a damn good financial forecaster and the Malfoys paid him handsomely for his ability to predict future trends. Whenever an evening business function came up where Draco and Theo would be attending, Harry had always insisted on joining Draco. In hindsight, Draco realized that maybe he should have invited Harry to tag-a-long with them for this conference. They could have been seeing sights after the conference adjourned and shagging long into the night. Instead of Draco returning every evening to a cold hotel bed.

“Harry and I had a horrible row before the conference started. It was our first fight since the wedding. We haven’t talked since,” Draco sighed as he continued stirring the drink in front of him. The ice had long since melted and the scotch was a sickly beige color as it swirled in the tumbler. Theo raised his eyebrows but didn’t look up, staring off into nothingness as he gave a sympathetic nod.

“Trouble in paradise, huh?” Theo asked. Draco nodded silently.

“You know, Draco, one of the reasons I’m able to predict the future is that I’m able to see what’s pretty clear in front of me. Maybe others aren’t as perceptive, but then they’re too oblivious to notice what’s around them.

“Now, if I had to take a guess, I would say that the problem was due to our current living arrangements during this conference. I suspect once he found out that we’d be sharing a suite of rooms, that your Harry was none to happy about it. Am I right?” Draco looked up and stared at his friend in wonder. Damn, he’s good. Draco thought as he nodded at his friend. Theo gave a smug grin and continued.

“Since your family pays me a filthy amount of money for my financial advice, can I offer you some advice on love pro bono? Go to him, Draco, right now. Don’t wait until tomorrow. Get there early and surprise him. If he were a woman, I’d say to buy some flowers along the way, but knowing your tastes, then I’d say some sex toys would be a better gift. Rush home and tell him you couldn’t wait another day until you held him in your arms. He’s the true love sort, I’m certain he’d forgive and forget.”

Theo reached an arm around Draco’s shoulders and gave him a gentle squeeze. Since their affair, they had hardly even shook hands. The overt gesture was not lost on Draco.

Feeling refreshed and resolved, Draco downed the last of his weak drink, threw some money on the table, and got up to head back to his hotel room. If he was going to do this, he knew he couldn’t wait another minute.

“Thank you, old friend,” Draco said, giving Theo a quick squeeze of the shoulder. He couldn’t wait to get home and see Harry.
