The girl can't help it!

So fishwhistle and I were trading comments about, yes, Sarah Palin again, over at idlerat's lj and then I wandered over to his desk:

me: Ah, the comedy stylings of Lola and Fishwhistle! Thank you, thank you, we'll be here all week ...

Fishwhistle, pointing to his own damn comment: And look here, this is even funnierme, chagrined to learn that this was true: ( Read more... )

If there is any justice in this universe at all, there will be video of her or her family members handling snakes

Or someone will do a really convincing fake and by the time it's discredited it will be too viral to get rid of. Most of the right wing Christians believed (and some still do) that Obama is Muslim, so all you'd have to do is pair the video with one of those "pass it on or die" chain letters and presto! Bye bye Christian right vote! :D

Actually, that's not quite a correct generalization. None of my Republican/Christian family or anyone in their circle of friends/acquaintances/churches ever believed the Obama-as-Muslim rhetoric...they knew it was a ridiculous, politics-as-usual claim. It actually pissed my brother off, to be honest.

I stand corrected. :) My grandparents believed it for a while though, and they come from the pre-Vatican II Catholic faction of the Christian right. The last poll I saw on the issue said that 10% still believed it, and they have to come from some demographic...

It probably depends on the demographic. I'm sure there are some who are gullible enough to believe it, but 10%'s still just a small fraction, thank God.

Are we sure Alaska is really in the US?
Why, are you volunteering to take Palin for A Player To be Named?

I hope she *is* used to speaking in tongues, maybe that'll fade the heat for suggesting that Americans should learn other languages.

Lots of people need to be reminded that "Jesus inviting the money-changers ito the Temple" is an AU.

*raises hand and waves it wildly*

Ooh, I have another wacky factoid: Palin apparently attended six colleges in six years.

She's an amazing woman. One-of-a-kind.

Now, we need to have those papparazi get a photo of her ankles.
