So I know that an English-language translation of Beatriz Sarlo's Una modernidad periférica exists. I've assigned it in my graduate classes before, I'm pretty certain. I have personally never seen this work in either French or English. I have read about the work in both languages. Did you try amazon.com?

It isn't in WorldCat (LC database), either, dammit. Are you sure that a chapter hasn't been translated and that's what you're remembering?
