Darn it. There was this book I read as an adolescent. It was not a particularly good book, but it had humanoid lions in it. I got rid of it a few years ago because I could not justify keeping it, since I did not actually like it. Or the human-furry sex. I don't remember the title exactly, but it was a synonym of "Les animaux dénaturés", the title of Vercors's philosophical novel. And I can't remember.
I can vaguely remember one that I think was by Andre Norton.
There's also an X-Files/Quantum Leap crossover fanfic out there that features cat aliens, has a lot of sex (though not with the cat aliens), and ends with Mulder adopting a cat.
Oooh, Andre Norton! That makes sense! I will poke around and see what I can see about her stuff.
The fic sounds brilliant - and there's also a pretty good though utterly cracked one in HP about Harry transforming himself into a cat so that Snape, on whom he has a crush, will adopt him - but Fishwhistle cannot be induced to read fanfic, even if it has cats in it.
Andre Norton, definitely. You can pretty much pick up ANY of her SF novels and there will be a cat/feline/felinoid in them somewhere. There's only one I can think of with an actual cat protagonist, which would be Breed to Come IIRC. However, The Zero Stone and Uncharted Stars have a very important feline character (well, more or less). I can't remember if Catseye has an actual cat or not. I think there's a feline in Ordeal in Otherwhere, but it's been a LONG time since I've read it.
For the fantasy side, Year of the Unicorn and Jargoon Pard feature human/feline shapeshifters, and at least one storyline in the very last, "tie up ALL the plotlines!" Witch World novel/story compilation introduces yet another one.
I *know* it's fanfic and therefore not a playable move, but hafren wrote a wonderful B7 story called "Who Walks Alone" where Blake finds...well, either it's a stray cat or it isn't.
It's true, BookMooch does not have as much stuff available as PaperbackSwap, which doesn't show any signs of becoming non-US-only. But think of the universal healthcare...
But Bookmooch has been good for a few particular kinds of things, to wit, recent mid-list British novels by women, and all the Dan Brown a person could ever, ever want.
I am also a big Bookmooch fan (my wishlist, in fact, is currently over 1000 items - don't ask me how.)
Another Cats in Space is Anne McCaffrey's Decision at Doona and the two sequels, Crisis on Doona and Treaty at Doona. I think there's an omnibus out that collects only the two sequels, for some reason. I wish I could recommend them wholeheartedly but I can't. Decision at Doona had some engaging ideas and a bit of energy but the plot made little sense; I felt the sequels were even worse. However, if you're a Cats in Space completist...

That is totally brilliant and we both thank you for it. Now we have to go change our pants.
