This will be of special interest to Justin Timberlake fans, but it's kind of brilliant even if you've never heard of him. Click here. NSFW by the way, but only a little bit ( Read more... )

Hee! (the video)

I am not sure I've ever heard a Justin Timberlake song.

Glad to hear your illness is merely annoying. *hugs*

I'm pretty sure I have never heard a Justin Timberlake song. And yet ...

The phrase "not life-threatening" is the second-nicest phrase you can hear in an emergency room, beaten out only by those beautiful, beautiful words, "here, have some more morphine."

If it needs morphine, I'd elevate it beyond "annoying". Now I'm all worried. *worries*

Aw, don't worry! Not life-threatening!

Basically it is just kidney stones, complicated slightly by a kidney infection (which is now gone) and uterine fibroids which are so large that they're shoving all my other organs out of place. I'm going to have to have a hysterectomy next month, which sucks in several ways, but should make all the other issues better.

Kidney stones really, really suck, though. Drink more water.

On-topic: Get better soon!

Off-topic: Toronto is beautiful! (at least the parts we saw). Lovely gardens in many (most) yards. I walked around a lot, but also got to ride in your enviable public transportation system. I don't know if you happened to catch any dancing. If we come again, I will know better where we will be and when and can let you know better in advance. The schedule doesn't vary much from year to year, but never having been, I had no idea what to expect, so couldn't give you much guidance of what to expect when.

Aw, I wish we could have shown your our garden! Actually, I've been meaning to write to explain my disappearance - I ended up spending much of that weekend in the emergency room, and then after I just curled up at home with more painkillers, so I missed the whole thing, alas. A colleague went and said it was brilliant, though.

I hope you come again!

I hope so too. And of course, it happens every year, with or without us. Green Fiddle Morris is the main organizer, I think, so they might be a good place to check for schedule. Toronto f Morris Men, which contains a colleague of yours from University that rhymes with Spork, does NOT organize it, but they are tons of chaotic fun and they pub at the Caledonian, which is within a long walking distance from the Tranzac and had some great single malt for reasonable prices. I'm sorry you were in the ER. :( I'd have loved to see your garden.

We were staying with a family on Woodward (I think it was), which was a lovely neighborhood. They had a great garden too. Unbelievable how much green you can fit into a little yard--how very civilized!

I don't know if they've made it to YouTube, but try looking for Roots of Music. After I saw that batch of middle schoolers (and a tiny younger sibling or two) practicing while marching through the French Quarter in NoLa, I was gleeful for days.
