The electricity in the entire neighborhood went out last night do to high winds. It only lasted a couple of hours, but I did learn I can't function without it. Well, more precisely, I can't function without the computer, microwave and television. Two of which I was using at the time. My thoughts at the time, "Oh my Joss, I hope the computers all ( Read more... )

I always think power-cuts are fun. Apart from when you have an electric cooker and you've had no dinner, and at the time you're living in Scotland and the reason the power has gone is because the snow has knocked down trees on to the power lines and you're going to die of hypothermia because the heating is electric too. Hmmm... but apart from that they're fun!

When men were gentlemen and slash happened on the streets.

If only, if only... The olden days must have been fun.

Why? I have no idea.

Because iconning is like crack, in a way. Love your icon!

Yes, apart from starving to death and/or dying of hypothermia, power-cuts are much fun. *nods*

Iconning=crack. Makes sense. Thank you. You know I finally realized you run Holy Cats! I've had your wallpapers on my desktop for a while now. My favorite is Tainted Love. So angsty and prettyful.

Hehe guess where I am - Ottawa - one of the places that lost power a couple of months ago, for a few days ;) ;) I loved it! Especially the night. Took some of my siblings (I have 12 lol) out to see the stars. Not as good as the city still, but ah well. And some of our neighbours gave us their melting ice cream. It was so nice! Although, I sorta know what you mean. If we didn't have power for longer, dunno what would've happened. Our culture's so dependant on this stuff it's sad. We wouldn't know where to turn without it :(

A few days? I might have gone insane. Of course, if I had ice cream from friendly neighbors it would have helped. Darn dependent culture. Wow. That's a lot of siblings. I now feel inadequate with my one half-sibling..
