Yeah my.. junior year of high school we played it for competition.

The octaves are killer. And it's just.. so.. long. >

it's a lot of fun to sing though....hard on the 'cords though if you're 1st soprano -_-;;

that is one of my FAVORITE songs, ever. My chorus/Orchestra teacher was obsessed with it, so I had the opportunity to play it on Bass, and sing 1st soprano, several times. Good choice for the movie though, beautiful, but immensely sad.

BTW, have you ever HEARD the vocal version? If you like the strings version, you'll probably love the vocal. They're different, but both very very good. I can see if I still have the MP3 if you want to hear it.

No, I did not even know there was one. Maybe I can convince my choral instructor to let us sing it. ^^

It is sad. Takes place right after the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It is a Miyasaki (SP) film, and that gives it huge credentials. You would do a good job with it.

I have heard it. It can pass as suffering music. That plus Grave of the Fireflies would make a big guilt trip video. I refuse to watch that anime because I fear it will be a guilt trip.
