ok, so I'm still reeling a bit, but my first impressions of DMC are below the cut:
ok first off? I *like* the slightly more serious tone of this one, I think I prefer mostly serious with moments of sheer idiocy to the light-hearted line, line, line of the first one.
Jack? so much love, whoever though Captain Jack could do pathos eh? and that moment with the Pearl, I want it in a locket. I never used to be down with Jack/Pearl, but I'm starting to see it
Navy boys - where were my Navybois? no Gillette? are we to assume he perished in the hurricane? surely not!
Undead Monkey - want one. full stop.
Elizabeth - thank god she lost The Drip, although I'm not sure The Horn is a more welcome character trait. I possibly love her a lot or hate her alot for doing what she did to Jack, but would she have kissed him anyway,hmm? enquiring minds need to know. I'll definitely be ficcing Elizabeth alot over the coming weeks
Will - whatever. still annoying, still wimpy, definitely a eunuch. Can't wait for the seething at Elizabeth in Potc3, hopefully he'll grow a pair and give her hell about that kiss
Tia Dalma - a fair trade for AnaMaria, methinks. I like The Mad. and also the cleavage. how we're going to transcribe that gorgeous accent is another thing...
Ragetti's sudden cleverness - funny funny funny, P&R were completely spot on I thought.
Kraken - someone write me Kraken/Jack hentai. now. the funnier the better. or better yet, Kraken/Will
Becket - oh meestair Cooollins....we can still tell it's you, y'know. Same silly voice, same Small Man Syndrome, I hope you die in a comedy way in the next film.
Norri - I hope to god the man has a game plan beyond privateering, surely he must have realised his future lies with Jack and the open sea? will Tia Dalma and Elizabeth need to beat the truth into him?

The Pearl - nooo! I cried....sad huh? but the Pearl!?
Bootstrap - I know he needs the barnacles and the dripping and everything, but did he have to have a little mollusc popping out of his cheek every 5 minutes? it looked vaguely obscene... in my mind, he is still Ralph Feines
Davey Jones - Love Love Love those tentacles and the pervy way they rubbed together. and the nose. loved the nose. in fact my feelings for Davey Jones are rather innapropriate.
the whipping - now I've always thought Will is best off in pain. over a barrel being whipped by his own father whilst davey Jones looks on and gets his tentacles all in a tither is spot on. vair vair hot. thanks Mr Brukheimer!
Teh Threesome - will someone put Jack, James and Will in a room with a small bed and some rum please? Tig and I upset other cinema-goers greatly by yelling "threesome!" in unison, when they pulled swords on each other. Great minds eh?

oh by the way, I've been hiding for almost 3 months because I've been moving house, in treatment and getting a new job. but I'm back now. yay!
