Apocalypse fic!

How will David Cameron lead the remnant of the country through an economically depressed Britain with a flooded London while he struggles with his newfound affection for his deputy? What will Nick Clegg negotiate for Britain in Europe and will he return to the place where everything suddenly went unimaginably wrong, not least his conflicted feelings over that one minute and thirty-three seconds alone with Cameron? Where is George Osborne, last seen in conversation with a smiling Mandelson?

Treachery, dishevelments, un-used to hardships; it's a reality wrenched from a nightmare. Just how will everyone cope?

When he entered Number 10, the place seemed deserted. He was heading toward the living quarters when he saw the door to David's office ajar ( ... )

Nick's arms had wrapped around him. The clung to each other under the shadow of the oaks, desperate with wretched longing. David pressed forward until Nick's back was against the tree, pressing himself closer. Their mouths were still fused together. One of David's legs had slipped between the other man's and his hands was against his chest where the shirt was becoming so damp that it was plastered against skin, but his shirt-tails were warm and dry. His hand was slipping on the belt buckle then the tab buttons; he cursed; Nick laughed against his neck, then gasped and jerked forward as David reached him and held him ( ... )

“Inevitable consequence.” Fox waved a hand, nonchalant. “As I see it, if you’re to stay this time, you and I are in the same precarious position in government; neither of us would prove very popular to the people, no matter how unjust the perception may be, which makes us natural allies ( ... )

The fifteen minutes passed. He saw George and David walked out together. They were still talking. Nick was quickening his step when he realised he could actually hear the whispers as if they were next to him instead of at the other end of the hall. He stopped. They haven’t seen him and it was not a faded echo he was hearing. Their words seemed to be broadcasting directly next to his ear.

“When I said do anything, I didn’t mean do anything,” George was saying. “Appeasement is one thing, blatant bribery another, whatever means ( ... )

At that, Nick had nothing to say; it was Conservative party politics and as much as the idea of announcing the budget to merely the House irked the liberal side of him, he could see the wisdom. He had promised David, after all, and he had fought all he could. “So where are those locations?” he asked instead. “What was overheard what perhaps, shouldn’t be?” He cast an eye toward George, who started chewing on his pen ( ... )

Goodness me. I have only just found this and I must say that it is rather excellent.

I do love your involvement of the Bilderberg group and the edge on conspiracy that you have here. I shall look forward to reading more.

After leaving David's office, George regretted barging in on him. It wasn't as if he liked disturbing David's rest or foregoing his own, but lately and perhaps it was because it was quite late, that he was experiencing a disturbing amount of deja vu. Politicking had never bothered him when it had been merely a game of the mind ( ... )

Dearest author-anon, you still manage to knock me over with your writing ♥

“You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”

George didn’t know who was speaking. It didn’t matter. “I didn’t see a ghost,” he answered. “That was not a ghost. This is worse. He’s a living man. Listen, he’s knocks.”

Genuine chills. Seriously. How do you do it?
