Born of woman the seventh son
And he in turn of a seventh son
He has the power to heal
He has the gift of the second sight
He is the chosen one
So it shall be written
So it shall be done"

You might've guessed it: We are on the 7th prompt post. Hurray!
And although seven is "the most magical number there is", the rules for ( Read more... )

Inspired by that fandomsecret a few weeks back where someone thought uk politics was a tv show...

The goings on at Westminster are just a successful tv show. Are the actors the same as their characters? Is the UST we see 'on screen' the result of RL relationships? Are the 'Milibands' really brothers - how did the older getting written out go down? Whose the biggest prima donna backstage?

Make it as wacky and wonderful as you like! :D

The naming in this thing attempted to kill me (naming everyone different is like the Ed^2 problem exponentially scaled, so I hope this worked out alright for you)

The House of Commons, BBC One, Telegraph.co.uk
Michael Deacon reviews the new series of The House of Commons, the political sitcom now in its 108th series, talking exclusively to the head writer (and occasional co-star).

108 might not be the usual landmark birthday, but that hasn't stopped the writers of The House of Commons making this series more edgy, critical and relevant to the real life politics of Britain today. The last few episodes have been nothing less than excellent, with the usual three to four year rejuvenation of the cast putting formerly minor characters in the spotlight in a Leadership Contest that made many of the 3.3 million viewers grip their seats ( ... )

MD: There is, of course, the rumour that the show based these two characters on the now ex-Director of Communications for the Government.

MG: I'm saying nothing. If Malcolm Tucker wants to complain again, I'm sure Points of View will be happy to air his calls ( ... )

*squee* Anon, this is absolutely amazing. <333

I especially love the lines about hiding from Thatcher behind the sofa! And DMil going off to be a Hollywood star. So so much awesome!

You've totally made my day. :D

Holyyyyy fuck. As a writer of some meta fills myself, THIS ONE TAKES THE CAKE. LOVELOVELOVE IT.

Gove's actor being head writer (I can imagine him in more regular clothes and glasses, looking very writer-y)! American remake that DMil's actor goes to guest-star in omfg. JUST TOO MUCH LOVE FOR THIS RN. ♥

You win Emmys and Baftas in either universe! I love me some Men In Black-style Russian Doll worlds-in-worlds!

Also, this explains so much about Michael Gove!

:D This has made my day. I can see it now, I really can! This is convincing, and funny, and wonderful. Ohh, and Gove being the writer - choosing to play a Tory - SO MUCH LOVE FOR THE MALCOLM THING ALSO <333 Can 'Yes (Prime) Minister' be RL in this verse too? XD

Seriously though, it scares me how easily I can see myself watching this show religiously, collecting the merch & buying the remastered 90's series in DVD boxsets just for all the NuLab UST... :D

You win the internet!

And then I'll go out and invent a new form of internet just so you can win that as well!

Aw, Libs having lots of comic characters and the [Andy Burnham's actor] fanbanse and DMil going to Hollywood to star in their version (which is doing much better after their election, but it'll never reach the heights of the '2000 election' cliffhanger :D)

Brilliant!

I grew up watching the old Conservative series [series 77 - 95] and was scared to the back of the sofa by Margret Thatcher alongside my school friends,
Thatcher the Doctor Who villain!

(I'm tempted to prompt young Gove hiding behind the sofa whilst watching DW)
