Welcome to our eighth prompt post.

As ususal, here are a few things to keep in mind:

1) All fills for prompts of the earlier prompt posts go in the post the prompt was posted in. No re-posting or splitting up prompts and fills.
2) Self-prompt when you post unprompted fic. (This means posting what the fill is about in a first comment, like a real ( Read more... )

(Confession: This anon has been watching extremely cheesy porn, hence the prompt.)

So, Alan Johnson and EdMili share an office. Anon would like you to imagine that:

a) the office is incredibly cramped, leading to Ed clambering over AJ to get to things, etc.
b) AJ is very attracted to Ed, but doesn't dare make a move. However, being in close proximity to the object of his affections is torturous distraction.
c) Ed, on the other hand, is obliviously? leaning over AJ to get files, sitting on the arm of his chair, stretching, and so on.

Johnson's resolve breaks when Ed, balancing on the arms of AJ's chair, reaches up to grab a book, slips, and tumbles into his lap. Certain friendly bits display their affection, if you catch my drift..

Ed ends up straddling the helplessly embarrassed AJ in his chair, whose blood is now rushing both to his cheeks and other bits. This is so obvious, even oblivious Ed can't miss it. What happens next?

Alan doesn’t know whether the rest of the world is blind, or if he just needs glasses. But when he reads yet another scathing interview about Ed’s politics, and his lisp and, worse, his appearance, he really doesn’t know what they’re talking about ( ... )

Alan wants to laugh with him, and to reassure him. Because if there’s one thing Ed is bad at, it’s feeling good about himself. He noticed it, even at the beginning, how Ed would struggle to hide how upset the papers’ jibes made him, and how, even having reached the party’s top spot, he could be crippled by shyness and insecurity.

He doesn’t trust himself to open his mouth however, so he just watches Ed, more covertly, and wishes that he had the guts to confess to Ed, and show him that there is someone who was enamoured of him, and quite desperately.

The day goes on in that vein, like every other day, and he’s counting down the minutes until he can relieve himself of this tension when Ed’s back at his side, and this time his hand is on the back of his chair as he reaches for another folder ( ... )

He shuts his eyes, because he doesn’t want to see the disgust on Ed’s face, and because even through the embarrassment he wants to commit the moment to memory, the feeling of Ed pressed tight against him.

<- So. Damned. Hot. This was brilliant, and has just ame my christmas. I loved the first line about Alan thinking everyone else is wrong, and I loved the tension building up into a crescendo throughout the first chapter (I dont't think I've ever read a more gripping build up and then just hopelessly insecure adorable Ed, tumbling around. - I loved all of it, there's no point in just trying to pinpoint bits.
“I’ve not got any evening appointments,” he says, and it doesn’t matter that it’s forward because one of them has to be.
Thank you, authoranon, for this frankly moving and brilliant fic - you've made the cheesiest of cliches into the most dramatic of slash :-) *showers with internets*
Right, bunk, I'm off to it.

<3 Unf. Dear god, this is hot... all the little details are lovely too, like Ed's height & Alan's fingers picking up the print on his paper, and that last line, d'aw! :) Fantastic stuff, authoranon. *applauds*
