David couldn’t concentrate in cabinet that morning. He’d been back about a month, brought in under the guise of a reshuffle as minister for transport. He slipped out his phone under the table and tapped out a message to James.

Hope you’re feeling better, you know I can’t help worrying about you.

His phone buzzed and George looked round quickly, frowning in mock disapproval.

David rolled his eyes and scribbled on his notepad
J was sick last night, I was worried. So shoot me?

George grinned at him then turned back to Theresa who was rambling on about something or other. Looking around to check no one else had noticed, David opened the text.

Was sick again this morning but I feel alright now, thanks. Had a splitting headache before, must be something going around.David felt a little better knowing James was ok so switched his phone onto quiet mode and slipped it back into his jacket pocket ( ... )
