In a nostalgic fit I was watching the political profiles' videos on the Guardian.

Watching Nick's I realised he was with Cameron on a cross-party expedition in 2007 to the Arctic.

Surely, pre-election Clameron, hard days trudging through the snow, in the evening by the campfire roasting what not, sheltering from the cold,
getting to know each other... One of them going slightly drunk accidentally into wrong tent, hiding from the other MPs. You get the idea.

Not gonna lie, was saving this one since last night for a nice, relaxing read (just like David) -and was wonderfully rewarded. The banter alone is worth its weight in gold (and diamonds and sexual favours), and the mental image of the two of them in a tent in the Arctic, snuggling in a sleeping bag, is one I hope to frequently recall.

And this dialogue:

"Who brings lube to the Arctic?"

"Who brings booze to the Arctic?"

"Right... well... actually, they'd probably have some..."

"We are not asking anyone for lube."

takes the cake for hilarity and wins an unspecified number of internets.

Mmm can't beat a nicely written "let's cuddle for warmth" fic, something so endearing about a slightly tipsy Nick seeking company from David while he's been banished my revellers out of his tent, then endearment turned into a bit of UNF at the lovely imagery of the guys rolling about in the polyester haven of David's sleeping bag...
