1) All fills for prompts of the earlier prompt posts go in the post the prompt was posted in. No re-posting or splitting up prompts and fills.
2) Self-prompt when you post unprompted fic. (This means posting what the fill is about in a first comment, like a real prompt, and commenting on that with your fill.)

Gaslight prompt- warnings for abuse/psychological warfare anonymous January 15 2011, 21:42:49 UTC
Alastair is abusing Peter, but Peter is too proud to seek help; so instead he begins a subtle campaign to convince Alastair (and others) that Alastair is losing his mind in order to get rid of Alastair and thus protect himself. Like subtly moving things around and pretending that's how they've always been, making Alastair seem paranoid, confiding in Tony that he's worried about Alastair, telling Alastair he needs help...
would prefer victorious!Peter
(the term gaslight comes from a movie of the same name where a man tries to drive his wife mad by repeatedly dimming the lights slightly and then claiming there is no change)

This is an amazing, amazing, amazing prompt, and I think it fits the abusive!Mandelbell 'verse in perfectly with Peter's RL tactical, Machiavellian brilliance. I would adore anybody who gave this a go.

ODG, seconded. It's exactly the kind of twisty roundabout thing he'd do and I'd be cheering for him...

Fourthed. Peter could totally win that, too.

This. This. So much, anon! Oh yeah, that's Peter for me. The urge to win - no, it's not enough to win, your opponent must be seen to lose. Muahahaha!

I have this weird image in my head of Peter all bruised and bound, staggering out of bed while Alastair's out and shifting the furniture around the room grimly so it's all a mirror image of what it was before.

I've started work on something. :) It's going to be frightfully long, so I'm afraid you'll have to take the updates as they come rather than in one big chunk, as I prefer to post fills. Anyway, this is just a heads-up and if anyone else wants to take a shot then, by god, that's good with me. <3

I strongly recommend you read the prompt before going any further. I haven't written anything explicit yet, but beware implied noncon and increasingly nasty mindgames. These are where the relations take place: in each other's offices, in toilet cubicles, in government cars and in empty meeting rooms. Never outside the places where they work. It's not like they haven't visited each other's houses plenty of times, but for some reason their little secret never leaks over into the real world. No, Peter's demons always come from within the walls of government, until he's convinced the whole fucking institution is out to get him. His rational mind knows it isn't, not quite; there's only really one man he needs to watch out for ( ... )

At first, Peter arrogantly promises himself to take no pleasure from the process itself. He believes he can put all the malicious satisfaction he feels down to the joy of reclaiming his liberty and safety. Of course, what he really looks forward to - much more than the final result of his labours - is seeing them in action. Watching Alastair's confusion turn to frustration turn to anger turn to despair ( ... )

The idea is to build up suspicion gradually, almost imperceptibly, over time, but Peter couldn't resist this little start to the show. He goes back to his office and he waits, imagining the scenario playing out not far away ( ... )
