Perhaps he has gotten voice training because his voice never broke and he's scared of being found out/ scared of not appearing 'manly' enough for a transguy?

This is such a quietly devastating yet compelling look at both the Mandelborne dynamic and Peter's more general outrageous (and potentially presumptuous) flirting, and this line in particular had a really heartbreaking punch to it. Oh, George. ;_;
