Andy walks across the foyer of Portcullis House towards the entrance to the tube station, his steps short and shuffling, hoping he won’t be seen. He’s left his jacket in his office and he knows he looks awkward but walking hurts. He feels humiliated, numb, angry, depressed and a whole bunch of other emotions he dare not name ( ... )

The lights are off and he thanks God for small mercies. He knows he’ll have to face Ed eventually because Ed is Ed and he is nothing if not persistent. But at least now he won’t have to face him like this, covered in bruises, physical marks of the humiliation that has been inflicted upon him ( ... )

Ed jogs up the escalators at Oval, a six-pack of Chang in each hand and a smile on his face. He’s been looking forward to tonight, it’s early by his standards and there’s two episodes of X-Factor and hopefully Andy waiting for him at home. They’ll watch X-Factor and get drunk, lamenting what a bunch of loathsome turds the Tories are during the ad breaks; if he’s lucky sex will follow ( ... )
