Because captcha fics are addictive and it would be awful if they were lost in the main prompt post.

The way it works:

a) Look at the two words in the captcha field
b) Write a fic inspired by those two words

For reference: thread with already excisting captcha fics.

So my fill in the original thread (banters boats) was also my first on this meme O_o scary times. I really enjoyed it, but I'm struggling with other fills as I find it hard to write concise fics and not have everything turn into longfic :( can any kind anons give me some advice?

Firstly, there's nothing wrong with longfic!

Although it does take up a lot of the author's time, so I understand you wanting to write something short. :)

The best advice I can give is to write your fic as if it's a scene from a much longer fic that won't actually get written. You don't have to include everything that leads up to the bit you're writing, or everything that follows it. But imagining that those bits of story exist somewhere can make it easier to concentrate on the bit you're writing.

I'm not sure that makes sense. I'm sure others will have better advice.

David Laws is quick-witted and small in stature, and far too polite and so eager to co-operate George almost questions his party affiliation. And they work together, and they get along to the point of ridiculous, and George.

George promises himself he will not stare at David Laws, enthralled and strangely infatuated, and he will not touch David excessively, and he will not make a move. He will not lean down to kiss David, and they won't have sex if that's what they both want, because they'd prefer things to be uncomplex like that, or George does, and David is simply kind enough to go with it.

George will.

George will stand his ground and keep the professional distance and not feel loneliness strangle his insides, leaving him breathless, and he will answer David's queries with a simple, "I'm fine." and this will stay as the truth between them.

Oh wtf, I want to write Gids/Laws and it turns out all angsty :\

Just take cute baby pictures and send them to George. I don't know why in my head!canon he is a total woobie, his love always unrequited. Woe. :(

Captcha calls for like spy!fic. My mind can only produce crack. Sorry. Also a little tipsy. Even more sorry for the quality and shortness of my first ever attempt at fic. Eeep!George Gideon Oliver Osborne, heir apparent to the Osborne baronetcy, Chancellor of the Exchequer of the United Kingdom and all around respectable citizen crouched behind the Prime Minister's desk, hands clasped together, index fingers pointing up the unmistakable mime of a gun and wondered where exactly his life had gone so wrong ( ... )

Hahaha I love this! This reminds me of the Fort captcha!fic back on the thread, but I love Gids being an unwilling participant - then realising the benefits!

Authornon here, so glad you enjoyed it. :) I was incredibly nervous about posting. And Gids is the kind of sexy bastard who always comes round to an idea when he can manipulate to his advantage in my head canon.

There was Fort fic? On the first or second meme? I am missing out here!
