My boss just stopped by my office with her granddaughter, who is very high energy. I gave her my AFLAC duck - a plushy and very cute. And when you squeeze it, Gilbert Gottfried yells AFLAC! three times, louder and LOUDER and LOUDER!

I would feel bad but I did ask her first and she said it was okay.

Gilbert Gottfried is the voice of the AFLAC mascot?! Okay, yeah, now that you tell me, I can make that connection. Huh.

Actually they got rid of him a little while back after he made some tasteless racial comments during his stand-up show. (Hello? Hadn't anyone ever seen his show? Tasteless is his modus operandi.) My AFLAC agent said it was actually a bit of a coup to have one with Gilbert's voice since thye didn't make them anymore.

Ah, yes. Very high energy. The type you take with you to your tax preparer appointment, to make SURE you get a good, responsible return. Ah, yes. But ... how old was this specimen? And did AFLAC duck have the desired effect? And, perhaps, one should inquire, "What WAS the desired effect?" FWIW, "silly" is often good!!
