I'm sorry i havent been updating. i seriously needed sleep>< I'll try to update more often. I hope you like this chapter =)
Two weeks had already passed by, but Ryo was still trying to get answers from Jin and Maru about Ueda. Ueda’s fever was finally gone after 2 weeks, but his sadness didn’t. He still wouldn’t talk to anyone, except showing a few gestures and write notes to Jin and Maru to ease their worries. The other members had been popping in and out of Ueda’s apartment to check if the boy needs anything, or just a shoulder for that matter. In the past two weeks, Ueda felt at ease. Ryo wasn’t around him like he would be normally when he goes to work. Today at noon, Jin and Pi dropped by at Ueda’s house.
“Uebo!! Pi and I dropped by to check up on you!” Jin announced as the couple walked in Ueda’s room, where he was resting on his bed. Ueda smiled at the presence of Jin and Pi, and nodded as a sign of greeting. “How are you feeling?” Jin asked worriedly as he sat on Pi’s lap, with Pi’s hands around his waist. “Do you need anything? Food? Water?” Pi secured his arms around Jin’s waist as Jin asked. Ueda shook his head, and wrote something on a piece of paper and handed it to them.
Don’t worry about me, I’m fine. I’m going to work tomorrow too.
Jin’s eyes widened at the letter, and asked worriedly, “Are you really okay with going back to work tomorrow?” Jin put down the paper and asked again. “Are you sure? Ryo’s going to be th-“ Before Jin could finish his sentence, Pi covered his mouth with his hands and whispered in Jin’s ears. “Baka, don’t mention Ryo in front of Ueda kun!” “Opps…I forgot.” It seemed like Jin’s Bakanishi side got to him again. Ueda smiled and took another piece of paper for him to write another message.
It’s okay; I think I’ll be fine now. Don’t worry about me, really! Plus, It’s fine that I don’t want to talk, I’m not the lead singer anyways. Manager-san can just say that I lost my voice or something.
“Ueda…” Jin looked at his friend with concern. Pi saw the protection in Jin’s eyes and can’t help but got a little jealous. Pi wrapped his hands around Jin’s waist tighter, as if Jin will disappear from the earth forever. All of the little actions were caught in Ueda’s eyes. Jin didn’t seem to get the whole situation, seeing as Jin was still shooting worried glances at Ueda, so Ueda finally wrote another note.
Jin, stop worrying about me so much, I’ll be fine! Don’t spend so much time worrying about me; you have a boyfriend, remember?
Pi blushed at the letter, knowing that Ueda seemed to understand his jealousy. Unfortunately, Jin still didn’t get anything. “Huh? But Pi’s here with me, so that counts as spending time together right?” Jin turned his head around to face Pi, with his famous “Baka” smile on his face. Both Ueda and Pi was defeated by Jin’s “Baka-ness”.
When Ueda was about to write another note to explain to Jin what the note meant, Pi stopped him. Ueda looked up in Pi’s eyes, and seemed to understand what Pi meant. Pi smiled and offered, “Do you need a ride tomorrow?” Ueda smiled and wrote another note.
No, I can get there by myself, and you two will probably be late tomorrow anyways.
Pi just smirked at the note, while Jin was still confused and trying to figure out the meaning. “We’ll be going now! See you tomorrow!” Pi announced and grabbed Jin’s hands and got up. “See you tomorrow Uebo!” Jin smiled at Ueda and waved. Ueda waved back as he thought, Good luck, Jin.
As the two were getting out of Ueda’s apartment, Pi pulled Jin into his hug in one swift move and whispered in his ears. “Do you want to know what Ueda meant?” Jin nodded and blushed at the closeness between him and his lover. “I’ll show you tonight, personally.”

When Ueda had arrived, everyone was greeting him with congrats and relief. All of their topics were not far from “Is your fever gone now?” “Congratulations for returning!” and “Long time no see! A lot of work is waiting for you!” (okay, that one was from his manager.)
When Ueda walked in KAT-TUN’s resting room, he saw what it seemed like a surprise party that yelled “Surprise!” at the wrong time. After getting hugs and greetings from the 4 members from KAT-TUN, Ueda realized that Jin was late, like he predicted. A few moments later, Jin walked limped in KAT-TUN’s resting room, with Pi’s hands around his waist to help him walk limp better. “Stupid Pi, it’s all your fault! You didn’t have to be so hard on me last night.” Jin hissed at Pi. “Hai, hai. I’m sorry. But it wasn’t like you didn’t like it.” Pi smirked at Jin. Jin blushed and turned away from Pi. “U-hmpt!” The 4 members of KAT-TUN coughed as a sigh of “We don’t need to know your love life, or the details for that matter.” Jin and Pi blushed. When Jin lifted his head back again, he saw Ueda sitting on a plastic chair, and ran directly at him.
“Uebo!!!!” Jin gave Ueda a big, gigantic hug. Jin whispered in Ueda’s ears. “Ne, guess what? Pi is really the jealous type!” Jin whispered as he rubbed against his sides. Ueda was about to smile at Jin’s words, but that smile had immediately stopped because of Ryo’s presence.
No one had warned him that Ueda was coming back today. Ryo wasn’t prepared. His whole notebook worth of words were drifted from his mind, and he was speechless in front Ueda. Ryo was standing at the door, facing Ueda and 5 angry KAT-TUN members who looked like they were going to bite off Ryo’s head. The long dreadful awkward silence was broke off by their manager. “Gentlemen, I need you to be in the dancing studio in 10 minutes! Get dressed and be prepared! Yamashita and Nishikido kun, get back to NewS’ resting room please.”
Moments after their manager’s words got out, the boys got into action and followed the instructions. Ryo was forced out of the room, but not before receiving warnings from the 5 KAT-TUN’s members. “Stay away from Ueda.”
After a long day of work, Ueda managed to avoid Ryo completely and got home at 5:50. He wasn’t ready to talk to Ryo yet. He thought he would be strong enough to see Ryo face to face, but he was wrong. Everything about Ryo just seemed to sting Ueda’s heart. Everything about Ryo seemed to hurt him more than ever. Ueda got home and immediately slumped himself on his bed after taking a hot bath. He didn’t want to think about Nishikido Ryo. He didn’t want to think about the things Ryo had done to hurt him. He didn’t want to think about anything at all. He just wanted to sleep. Sleep and forget all his troubles.
When Ryo had gotten all his work done, Ueda was gone already. He cursed under his breath and went outside to get his car, preparing to go home. He thought, maybe that wasn’t such a bad idea. He could reform another script in his head, and actually say it out loud to Ueda, say how sorry he was for hurting Ueda like that. When Ryo was about to take his keys out, he saw someone. Ryo thought that the girl not far away from him looked familiar, so he took a closer look. When the two’s eyes met, the girl actually smirked and walked towards Ryo. Ryo, on the other hand, was still trying to figure out who the girl was as she walked closer and closer to him.
“Ryo chan, long time no see!” The girl greeted Ryo with a deadly smile, like the smile a murderer would show before killing you. Ryo’s body shivered, and he finally remembered. “Tatsuko!” that name had brought up painful memories back, and Ryo wasn’t enjoying Tatsuko’s presence one bit.
“Yea…” Ryo murmured. Tatsuko smirked at Ryo’s uncomfortable reaction, and continued. “How’s your pretty friend? Ueda is it? Yea, Ueda.” When the Ueda’s name came out of Tatsuko’s mouth, all the memories of Ueda betraying came back to him. The twist in Ryo’s stomach that had developed not long after he met Tatsuko again had gotten worse, but he still managed to answer Tatsuko. “You mean the person that I’ve been insulting and ignoring for 9 years? He’s been better.” Ryo didn’t know why he had just said that. Maybe ha wanted to gloat, or maybe Tatsuko just brought up the painful memories up again, along with Ryo’s hate for Ueda. But his answer to Tatsuko was right. He had been ignoring Ueda when they both got into JE, and he had been insulting and hurting Ueda for 9 years.
Not long after Ryo answered, the smirk that had always been on Tatsuko’s face had turned into a sneer. Ryo was somewhat irritated with Tatsuko’s sneer, which had recently turned into a loud snicker. “Ha… you really are slow aren’t you? Or is it just that ignorant?” Tatsuko calmed down a bit and wiped off the tear that had formed during her laughs. Ryo cocked up an eyebrow, as if asking, “What the hell are you talking about?” “God, you really have no clue do you?” Tatsuko had finally stopped laughing, and expressed this somewhat serious facial expression. “Ueda didn’t betray you. I did.” Tatsuko slowly confessed in a you-are-so-stupid-I-had-to-tell-you-everything tone. Ryo was even more confused than before. “I actually feel sorry for your pretty friend. Seemed like I made the right choice dumping you.” Tatsuko said in a matter-of-fact tone. Ryo was got more irritated and confused, as he placed his hands on his sides while he was still glaring at his former girlfriend. “Look.” Tatsuko was going to confess everything, since she had played both Ueda and Ryo for 9 years. “I was going to cheat on you with your best friend, Ueda, because I got bored of you and I wanted someone to fight over me. I thought it would be fun having best friends turning on each other over me, so I told you to go down to the coffee shop where you’ll see Ueda and I betraying you.” As half of Tatsuko’s story ended, Ryo’s hands had grasped into a fist. “When I saw that you were closer enough to see me and Ueda, I leaned forward to kiss him. that was all that you saw, but it was enough for you to run away. I thought you’d come in and yell at Ueda, but you didn’t. Anyways, I didn’t kiss Ueda. Ueda pushed me away before I could. He didn’t want to betray you. After he pushed me away, I told him my plan. I told him that I was planning this and that you saw everything. Not long after that, I got myself a new boyfriend, and I totally forgot about the two of you.” As Tatsuko finished her story, she lit up a smirk, which leaded Ryo to slap her on the face. SLAPPPPPPPPP
The girl lifted her hand to caress her cheeks, which had already turned bright red after Ryo’s attack. She was shocked for a second, but lit up another smirk in return as if nothing happened. Tatsuko didn’t care. After all, she was the winner. It was Ryo and Ueda who were the ones who suffered. “So what if you slapped me? Huh? I’m not the stupid one who mistook their friend and hurt the other. I’m not the one who suffered for 9 whole years either! Face it Nishikido Ryo, you lost.” Tatsuko sneered at Ryo before walking away.
After Tatsuko had walked away, Ryo’s whole body slumped on the ground. He stared at the ground blankly. “Oh god…What…what have I done?” A tear escaped Ryo’s eyes, and he covered his face with his hands, as if he was too shameful to show his face to anyone. “Oh god…” Ryo’s mind was flashing images that had made Ryo want to kill himself. Images of him insulting Ueda, hurting Ueda, and him ignoring Ueda flashed through his mind. Images of Ueda crying helplessly, sometimes even in someone else’s arms. Last but not least, the scene where Ryo had punched Ueda in the face and announced that their friendship was over, and that he hated Ueda. Every image that had passed Ryo’s mind had sickened him. Ryo thought that he was the most horrible person alive. His eyes were expressing the emotions of sadness, painfulness, anger, frustration and confusion. He wanted to know why didn’t Ueda explain everything to him. If he had, they wouldn’t be in this situation right now. He wondered how he was going to face Ueda right now. Should he run away? Run away so that there would be nothing else to hurt Ueda anymore? No. He couldn’t. Ryo knew in his heart, that he could not possibly live without Ueda. He didn’t want to admit it at first, but he knew. Ueda was important to him. That was why he would insult Ueda everyday. That way, he would at least talk to Ueda face to face. But now… Ryo was trapped in misery. Ryo knew he deserved every ounce of agony and misery he was feeling right now, but he had to do something. He had to get Ueda back in his arms again. He had to get Ueda to trust him again, because he loved Ueda.
