CIO...night #1
I'm afraid to even type this, but I think last night went pretty well (KNOCK ON WOOD)
Matt had a K of C meeting last so that helped. After I fed the girls, and they both had baths we read on Mary's bed. Mary went to bed a little late but was asleep by 8PM. I went downstairs with Megan, turned down the lights and sang to her, fed her a little more, and cuddled with her. Then at 8:15 I put her to bed (I don't even think she was almost asleep but I knew she was sleepy.). She started fussing almost immediately, and unfortunately cried and fussed for 35 minutes. She did stop crying about 10 minutes into it though, for 5 minutes. I kept myself busy during that time and went upstairs into our bathroom, closed the door, and got myself ready for bed. With the water running and the door closed I could still hear her but not as when she is in our room. I checked on her at 9PM and she was all stretched out, sleeping away. She stayed asleep even when Matt got home at 10:30. She woke up at 11:45 and fussed but didn't really cry, for about 15 minutes. Then again she woke at 12:45 but she only fussed for 5 minutes. At 3AM I woke up, and I could tell Matt was sort-of awake too. I went to check on her and she was sleeping away. Matt asked me how she was doing, and apparently he didn't even hear her wake up (I had our ceiling fans on and the bedroom doors closed too). I heard her again around 3:45, 4:15, and 4:30. I think she coughed herself awake though. I only went to get her at 6AM because by then Matt needed to go downstairs. So I got her, fed her (while she was still sleepy) and put her in bed while I got ready and woke her up at 7:30 when I woke up Mary.
She has a cold now it seems. So I'm going to put the humidifier on, and spray some saline up her nose and hope she doesn't wake herself from coughing. I was awake myself from 3 'til about 4:45. I went to bed at 9PM and wasn't sleeping well, because I was anticipating her waking up. Overall I think it went well though. Tonight I have class and Matt will lifeguard so the inlaws will have the girls until about 8 tonight when I pick them up, but I hope it goes as well or better!
As I was laying in bed awake this morning, at 3AM, I was thinking...'C'mon Megan you can do this. Just a few more hours. Even if you only sleep through 5AM, I'll come get you. 6 would be great though! You need to sleep as much as we all do.'
