I am going to blow a gasket when I talk to my building super. They sprayed for roaches in march and figured that would end the problem? The other day I found an empty egg casing on my counter. That sucks cause it means there are little babies running around feeding off the things in my kitchen. Well, the counter and kitchen was clean today BUT ( Read more... )

OMG, I'd freak. We get the occasional one coming in through the drain this time of year, but they're random and they die as soon as they come in. Bug spray, boots, and three cats see to that.

They make roach baits. I use the ones for ants all the time as EVERYONE gets those here in the summer. It's basically corn syrup/peanut butter laced with nerve agent. They eat the bait, they crawl away, then they die as the poison inside hits their system. The wonderful thing is they share with their pals. >:D They're not too expensive and you can find them pretty much anywhere, usually in the chemical or garden section.

For the record I'm *terrified* of most insects. Dunno why. The only ones that don't really scare me are the venomous ones. Spiders and scorpions don't bother me in the least either. I see a roach, I scream my head off. Butterflies (?) and moths will elicit much the same response.

I've tried to find roach baits but all we find are sticky traps. I'm going to see if i can go to a better garden centre and find any...taht is if the super won't spray again...he should spray at LEAST every three months!

I'd still try to find the baits. Besides, if they eat the bait they usually die where you won't find the bodies.

Here you can find them in Target, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, etc. Ask for 'roach baits' or look with the bug sprays.

I would look at health code laws if I were you, and if your landlord is still being an ass, you should threaten to sick the Health Dept. on his ass for unbearable living conditions. I mean, what if you had a baby crawling around ( ... )

Thanks Mish, those are some great ideas. I'm going to call the super today and if he or she (there are two of them) won't do anything, I'm going to call the Property management place.

As for a job...I worked in retail and it's fine, but since working a job that was more like a career place, I really feel it would be a step back for me to go back to retail. If things get stressful though, I'll go back to retail until I can find something better.
