It wasn't a good idea to buy ridiculously-shaped fruits ten dollars apiece, that Mei knew, but Yao said the same thing about the square watermelons she got from Tokyo last year. So Mei wasn't about to sneak in his flat to leave a basket of Buddha pears on the kitchen counter. She wasn't going to leave before he could get his ass there. She wasn't going to open the door to his room, which was in front of her right now.
From a turn of the doorknob, Mei could tell that Yong forgot to lock the place up again. She pushed the door carefully so as not to make a sound and peeped into the room to find someone there, to her surprise.
