It was days like this that made Dewi really appreciate his job. He pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose to focus on the hieroglyphs decorating the clipboard his shaking hands were holding as if it were the only thing supplying the gravity beneath his feet. Oh, yes… he felt like Peter Pan himself, floating on cloud nine about the auditorium, directing his “lost boys” who were so generously helping with sound equipment and lights, but he still felt the butterflies fluttering in his stomach.
There was only Dewi, a handful of students who had arrived early (they were in the practice rooms running over their scales and doing last minute rehearsals,) two of his assistants (they jokingly referred to themselves as understudies for the director,) but other than that, the auditorium was bare.
The other two judges had yet to arrive… and the auditions were scheduled to start in only a few minutes. He knew that John was punctual, yes, but then there was this third judge… a man who he was referred to by his half-brother. He knew nothing of the man “Roderich” besides the obvious German lineage because the last name, but it was unkind to make presumptions.
He regretfully stared at the auditorium doors and awaited the arrival of the judges and his promised cast members.
