Just read all of this story so far. Have to say I like it as much as A Year's Temptation. You're quite good at making it realistic. Neither Draco or Harry are perfect, they screw up, make mistakes, have bad ideas, have arguments, and yet they're obviously good for each other. If only Harry would see that. But the slow development between them is lovely. I like that even though it didn't take all that long for them to get together physically, they're letting things grow between them emotionally as well. Not that that's what Harry's trying to do, mind, but that's how it will work out.
Am enjoying this immensely, and I look forward to the next chapter!
Thanks! I think the two stories definitely have in common the pain of pulling a relationship apart, and I wanted to make that as complicated as possible.
Draco is, I think, more keen-sighted about emotions than Harry in this, but then, Harry also went five years without realizing that Ginny could possibly fall out of love with him. So his blindness is necessary for the plot. ;)
Harry would fuss right now if anyone confronted him and insist that his trust and "feeling" for Malfoy are strictly business (because he regards his attraction as such a bad idea, and believes that Malfoy's for him is something Malfoy could very well feel for anybody, so he's not special). That's why Draco is, very cleverly, giving him space.
Heh, Oblivious!Harry does make for interesting plot. I can see that he doesn't think he's all that special, that there's no real reason other than his magic that Draco would be interested in him. That speaks to some underlying self-esteem issues. Which probably were part of the problem with Ginny. And probably stems from his abusive childhood. I'm looking forward to seeing how Draco manages to navigate around those issues to finally prove to Harry that he is special, he is lovable, and that Draco is interested in him for much more than his magical power.
The idea of staying the night in the Burrow, unable to move for fear of inhaling Weasel stink, was not a pleasant one.
I'm in love with snarky little comments. I'm very pleased to see that Harry is coming to terms with the way he thinks and feels about Draco. Can't wait for more!
Thanks! I do like writing from this particular Draco's POV (in other stories, I've liked Harry's more).
Harry is still in the "I trust him to be a good Arguer- which means a sneaky bastard- and I kind of care for him like a friend" stage, but yes, he's slowly sliding there.

And I'm glad the conversation with Ron went well!

I think Ron can waver in his loyalty to Harry, but it's too strong for him to just abandon it outright.
