Ron's death was a Quidditch accident from the first germ of the story. I really didn't want him murdered.

Aside: It's interesting; I just started plotting a new story a few days ago where Draco is a filmmaker, but I haven't thought through the details yet. Will you be describing more about what Harry does, or is that more peripheral to the plot of this series (it seems that it is, at least so far)?

The article you linked to is interesting; thanks. I think a lot of H/D stories I've read and written are based more on passion than anything else.
Harry's career will be described more in the second story than the first, when he starts to return to it. But he doesn't actually make movies, if that's what you're asking; he only makes the actual film for wizarding cameras.
