“Good,” Draco said, and stared back at the cauldron. The feeling that came over him then was like falling in love.

Welcome, little potion, to a brand new future.

*shakes head* Picturing Draco cooing over a cauldron full of potion is just so bizarre. I love it! And sheesh, Harry's severely underestimating himself here. Going through that brewing process, I could only wonder how they're going to alter the steps to make it easier. Great work with this. Please write more soon!

Draco in this story is an artist. You'd have to expect him to be a little strange. :)

Harry has got it set in his mind that he's only really good at this one series of spells (when it comes to brewing)- hence why he's surprised that Draco wants his participation in the brewing process.

And thank you!

Tremendous amount of potions detail...makes it sound very intriguing. Loved the last line- Draco can see a bright future ahead of him, methinks.

Thank you!

Draco is having visions of golden castles and full control of the wizarding world. He's almost inevitably going to be disappointed.

Yay, the Brewing scene!! Very good, descriptive enough for the complexity of the potion (and Harry's powerful use of magic) to come across without it being too confusing. Malfoy looked more interested in Harry's magic than in the potion itself. Does Harry have no idea how much power his spells require, or does he think there are tons of wizards out there who can do them ( ... )

Thank you!

Draco was mainly interested in what Harry's magic did to the ingredients because he already knows the basic means of combining the ingredients and what they do to one another. He was just watching for variations.

Harry's thinking process goes more like this: "These spells are my routine. I can do them well because I've practiced so much. But the moment I try something new, I won't be in my routine anymore, and it would take an unacceptable amount of time for me to become good at them."

I don't mind telling you that Hermione falls firmly into the camp that believes Harry could control his behavior on his own. Just as she wants to take the potion, but only to combat her depression, not control it forever.

I love the idea of Draco taking a photograph of the first vial of potion!

Excellent potion brewing scene. You really captured the process I've always pictured in my head of a wizard/witch over their cauldron making a magical elixer.

I have my guess what Harry's problem is, but I will wait.

Thank you!

If it helps, the answer is provided at the end of this story, and this story is only twelve chapters long, so...

That was an extremely well written brewing scene. It was exciting and complex but made sense. And the end lines made me giggle.
