I'm glad Charlemagne and Cordelia didn't try to sabotage the opening day, like, say, send in someone to fake a bad reaction from the desire potion. I was half expecting it, haha.
Lovely chapter! Daphne's not so bad. I like how Draco feels like a 'woman' around her. Please write more soon!
They stood too much chance of being exposed if they did that. Besides, they don't understand enough about the Desire potion yet; for all they knew, the potion could have removed their pawn's loyalty to them.
And thank you!
Poor, poor Draco. Except not, because he chose this. *tortures him*
Oh, my Draco. -hugs- Don't worry, Harry will make it all better, eventually. Gotta love Harry's self denial, but at least he's moving along quickly in the attraction department.
I have the feeling going to Daphne was a very stupid idea, I just hope Draco knows what he’s gotten into. I don’t know what to think of Daphne, yet. So far I don’t like her, but hey, I didn’t like Richard at first :P
Draco’s right, he and Harry are very different. There’s this series in which a character always says to “look underneath the underneath” and I think that’s what Draco, and every Slytherin, do (only, for Slyherins, there are like a hundred levels of ‘underneath’). On the other hand, I don’t think Harry knows there can be an ‘underneath’, most of the time ::lol:: That’s why seeing them develop a real friendship and learning to work together will be interesting.
“I didn’t know we would be dueling-“ Oh, Harry… LOL
It seems Harry’s starting to realise he’s attracted to Draco, and doesn’t like it one bit. What will he do, plunge into denial? Ignore it? Can’t wait to find out :)
Draco definitely wouldn't have done it if he had more time. But he feels he didn't, and he jumped at the best option he could find. (He would have been especially screwed if he'd decided to depend on Harry to raise the money, for instance).
Daphne really is pretty much what she appears: self-sufficient and only interested in people for a few things.
Draco's definitely always looking for hidden motives. I think Harry has learned to do so, but only for people, like Draco, whom he expects to have them.
In this case, Harry will endeavor to learn more about Draco, because he does understand that what he sees may not be all there is.
Ooooo. Interesting. Poor Draco. Getting manhandled by Daphne. He should be getting manhandled by Harry!! But the things one puts up with. :) Hopefully Draco will be able to pay and get free from Cordelia.
But Draco and Harry are just too damn adorable together!!
Draco only intends that liaison to last a week if at all possible. He'll get the money from Daphne and scarper. Of course, it probably won't be that easy.
And thanks! Harry is starting to come around to the idea that they might look adorable to each other.
Interesting portrayal of Daphne. I don't see her characterized like that too often. Poor Draco. I hope he didn't sell his soul to the devil. I doubt Harry will like it very much when he finds out.
And yes! Some headway on Harry's end. I can't wait until Draco pushes him to be together without the potion.
I haven't seen much characterization of Daphne at all, to be honest. I'm mostly going off what I need from this story.
And no, Harry probably won't like it much- but at least partially because Draco will really muck up how he handles the situation.
Harry is going to give in to his attraction and chase Draco for a while, but he will resist giving up the potion dreadfully. He doesn't see why he can't have a nice, calm, mature relationship with Draco.
