Great chapter! I loved Draco's house-elf almost spilling his secrets about his injuries. For some reason, I just found that very funny. And I liked Draco calling Cordelia's bluff. I'm not sure about the whole plan though - somehow I don't think "boring" Daphne will be as easy as Draco would like to believe.
I don't know if you can tell me or not but I'm interested about Ginny - is her reaction to Harry, seeming fearful, because of what happened between them or is it something else? Is his guilt colouring his interpretation or is that actually how it is?
Thank you! Patty would have been happy to stay and talk about it if they hadn't ordered lunch. Of course, she does not really approve of the way Harry is treating himself either.
Well, part of the problem is that Draco doesn't really remember what he and Daphne do together, so boring her will not be as easy as he thinks.
Her reaction to Harry is all based on the Incident. There may be things he doesn't know about- he never knew how bad her nightmares got, for instance- but she isn't secretly guilty. She may be naive, though.
Ginny’s intentions may have been good, but that doesn’t change the fact that what she did was stupid. She should have told Harry (or written to him, if she didn’t want to met him in person) all this instead of acting on her own. What bothered me was this:
I just-I don’t like the fact that you’re spending so much time with him, Harry
Maybe it wasn’t her intention, but that sounded far too controlling. And she already has (unknowingly) a lot of control over him; every flinch strengthens Harry’s conviction that the potion is a good thing.
I loved how Draco keeps contact with the house-elves behind his parents’ backs! Even if Draco doesn’t consider what he does with Daphne as whoring, I think on some level he does... or at least, is ashamed of what he does. And that’s other reason for not wanting to tell Harry, besides what Harry himself would think.
And maybe more than that, if I can go slowly enough.
More like, if Draco can go slowly enough to make Harry understand he doesn’t need the potion. If Harry finds out now that Draco’s
( ... )
She honestly just got an idea in her head and went with it, which is pretty Gryffindor of her.
And no, she didn't mean to sound controlling. She knows that she doesn't control who Harry spends time with now, and she no longer has the say of a girlfriend. But she is concerned as a friend might be concerned about someone who doesn't realize that his new gang has a reputation for theft and vandalism.
That analysis of Draco could well be true. He isn't proud of what he does with Daphne, anyway; he's irritated with himself for not figuring out some way out of this dillemma that didn't involve Daphne.
Draco will find a way to convince him, but it would have to happen slowly.
Draco finds some challenges from Hermione in the next chapter, heh.
lol well i dont think its Ginny's fault per se... its the effect her reactions are having on Harry that bother me. he's having a hard enough time coping with his guilt on his own.
*cant wait for more sexual tension*
scary is good, scary is good. the notion of having Daphne and Cordelia teaming up is admittedly terrifying. Cordelia could, for example, force the truth out of Draco with Veritaserum, and after being obliviated by Daphne, Draco would never suspect anything... things are not looking good for my favorite blonde...

I don't like Ginny. Have I ever mentioned that to you before??

And yes, I think you have. But maybe I can make you like Ginny in this story if I write her really well!
...Not that I am holding my breath, you understand.

the building sexual tension between Harry and Draco is simply fantastic, by the way.
also, unlike Draco, while Daphne is clearly extremely sadistic, Cordelia still scares me more...

Ah. I am trying to write a likeable Ginny. *pouts*
I'm glad you like the sexual tension. It stays tension for, ah, a while. :)
How interesting! Well, both of them, plus Diggory, will be scary in the chapters to come.
