OMFG, this stuff with Daphne just gets more and more twisted! I kind of want to smack Draco - it's not worth it! It's interesting that Harry doesn't understand/can't see Draco not liking him on the potion. I would think it would make sense to him, even if he didn't agree with Draco about it.
This line, BTW, was pure genius: “I do not ‘mess up,’” Draco said. “My plans fail with a kind of spectacular brilliance, like a star going nova, or they come off perfectly.”
It isn't! But when have you ever known Draco to be small in his pride? (Common sense, yes.)
It would probably make sense to Harry if it was explained. He definitely wouldn't agree. But since Draco's reactions aren't explicitly said to be a result of Draco's dislike of the potion, Harry just assumes he must be mistaken.
Oh, no! Draco, why must you be so stubborn! He knows Harry's greatest plight and shrugs it off, but won't consider that he might accept his choices just as well and would probably feel more disgust toward Daphne than Draco. Both those boys are such fools when it comes to sharing shameful problems. *eyeroll*
Is Daphne trying to kill Draco slowly, knows he can get out of most of her traps or does she just not care? Man, this woman is quite something, and it's not sane.
Oh, yes, they are. I think Draco has a problem with Harry feeling disgust towards him at all, though; it doesn't really matter whether he'd dislike Daphne more.
Daphne enjoys the uncertainty. What she likes most of all is seeing whether Draco will die this time.
*snicker* I didn't realize it came off that way, but it does, doesn't it? Despite Draco's reluctance to engage in any sort of relationship while Harry is still on the potion.
