The Stars. The Moon. They Have All Been Blown Out - (Amy/Eleven) a Doctor Who Fanmix and Picspam
Although I'm not a religious women, I really wanted to properly christen my new media community by doing something big, and as I already had a few great Amy/Eleven songs in my head, this just seemed like the best idea, with me going through a major Doctor Who fase right now (I just starting series 4, which may be my second favorite season after the series 5!) And yes, I know I made another Amy/Eleven mix not that long ago, but these two are just so amazing and have a habit of assigning so many songs on my ipod as their own. Plus, Karen Gillan and Matt Smith are really fun to look at, and thus make for the best picspams.
While my first Amy/Eleven mix was pretty general, this one has more of a theme, making it kind of like 2011: A Space Adventure Between to People Who Clearly Want Something More Than Just Friendship (wow, that was meant to be shorter.) A lot of the songs walk along the lines of having to do with outerspace, and aside from a few exceptions, every one has something in the lyrics about stars and other universe stuff. The mix also has a recurring theme of heartbreak, because I really think that's a strong part of their relationship: although Amy and Eleven clearly have feelings for each other that are not platonic, things would never work, what with her being married (and I'll admit, in love) with someone else, and him being an old alien.
Small note: I spent a lot of time debating which version of "Twilight Galaxy" to use, because both the single and the autistic are lovely and really fit the mix, and although I settled on the autistic version, I have both on my computer and would be willing to give you the other. Also, the mix could be a ficmix with this fic, due to them both have similar themes and being made around the same time, although it was not intentional. Also, a small thanks goes to zombie_boogie, who made the most amazing Amy Pond mix, and completely inspired me :)
